When Pam Browner and Ron Brown purchased their home in 2022, they had a vision of creating an incredible outdoor space that would become the heart of their family life. Nestled in a great location with an ideal yard for gatherings, it didn’t take long for them to start planning for the perfect outdoor space.

The couple wanted this space to be a true extension of their living area, a place where they could unwind, entertain, and connect with nature as well as each other. The inspiration for their outdoor transformation came from the perfect source: Geoff Gonder of Premier Homes Construction, who had crafted a pavilion in honor of his beloved brother, Gary. Once they saw it, Pam and Ron were captivated by that pavilion’s design and functionality, and it ignited the idea to create something similar for their own backyard.

The centerpiece of their outdoor paradise is a striking large timber pavilion with an attached patio that’s fully lit for safe walking and socializing, making it a haven for their large family and friends.

The pavilion also boasts a majestic stone fireplace, complete with a large TV mounted above it. This addition transforms the outdoor area into an all-season retreat. Whether it’s a chilly winter evening or a balmy summer night, Pam and Ron can enjoy the warmth of the fireplace while watching their favorite shows or movies. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and entertainment. To tie the design together, a fir fireplace mantle was added, perfectly matching the wood used for the pavilion’s structure. Black accents were incorporated into the design, adding a touch of modern sophistication that complements the natural elements of the space.

One of the standout features of the pavilion is the weighted curtains that adorn its sides. These curtains not only provide a cozy, homey feel but also serve a practical purpose, offering protection from the sun during the hottest parts of the day, as well as the wind on cool, breezy nights. It’s a thoughtful touch that enhances both the aesthetics and functionality of the space.

Pam and Ron’s attention to detail extended to the concrete used in the project. They decided to use a combination of browns and blacks, creating a unique and visually appealing aesthetic. The result was beyond their expectations, and they fell in love with how it turned out.

Pam affectionately refers to the outdoor space as her “extended living room.” It’s easy to see why – she takes great pleasure in decorating it for each season, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for gatherings with friends and family. This space has truly become the heart of their home, a place where cherished memories are made.

In May 2023, their outdoor paradise was completed, and it was time to share it with their loved ones. The highlight of the summer was the “Friends and Family Music Festival” held in their backyard. Over 100 people gathered to enjoy the festivities, with an abundance of musical talent providing the soundtrack to the memorable event.

Moreover, this space isn’t just for adults; it’s also a haven for the younger generations. It provides the perfect setting for them to hang out with friends, offering a safe and enjoyable environment for socialization and having fun. When the grandkids are visiting, this space provides the perfect opportunity to keep a watchful eye as the little ones run in the yard and play on the playset, beyond.

This couple has transformed their backyard into a haven that perfectly complements their love for gatherings, family, and the great outdoors.

With its striking pavilion, cozy fireplace, and thoughtful design, their outdoor living space has become an all-season retreat where unforgettable moments are created.
